Project Overview: Fence Restoration & Garden Renovation
We successfully completed a project to restore and enhance our client’s existing garden fence and surrounding area. The primary challenge was to replace the structural supports without dismantling the fence, alongside renovating the adjacent wall and creating a new functional path.
Here is a breakdown of the work we delivered:
- Fence Post Rescue & Replacement:
- Expertly replaced deteriorated fence posts while keeping the original fence panels fully intact.
- Utilized temporary bracing to ensure structural stability and safety throughout the process.
- Installed new, long-lasting 100mm x 100mm tanalised timber posts for a robust and durable foundation.
- Dwarf Wall Renovation:
- Removed the old capping stones and installed new, sleek feather-edged grey capping.
- Professionally rendered the wall with a two-coat system: a base scratch coat followed by a smooth, floated top coat.
- Finished with three coats of brilliant white masonry paint for a pristine, weather-resistant appearance.
- New Perimeter Pathway:
- Constructed a convenient one-metre-wide gravel path around the garden’s outer edge to improve accessibility.
- Laid a weed control membrane as a base to suppress future weed growth and ensure a clean, low-maintenance finish.
- Topped the path with a 10mm gravel surface, creating a durable and aesthetically pleasing walkway.
