Project: New Timber Frame Music Studio, Falmouth
- Project Overview: Construction of a newly built, timber-frame music studio designed to provide a fully soundproofed environment for playing and recording music.
- 1. Concrete Base:
- Laid a reinforced concrete slab with steel mesh.
- Provided a strong, solid, and level subfloor as the foundation for the entire structure.
- 2. Timber Frame:
- Constructed a specialized timber frame for the walls and roof.
- Featured two independent skins (external and internal) with a gap between them.
- This decoupled design prevents sound and vibrations from transferring through the structure.
- 3. Insulation and Wall Coverings:
- Filled the frame with specialist acoustic insulation.
- Boarded the walls and ceiling with soundproof materials.
- Installed a soundproof internal door and an external UPVC door with integrated acoustic glass.
- 4. Cladding and Flat Roof:
- Finished the exterior with white UPVC cladding and an anthracite UPVC door.
- Installed a fiberglass flat roof with an anthracite top coat.
- The coordinated color scheme provides a modern, contemporary appearance.
