This project focused on maximizing underutilized loft space by installing a sturdy, functional storage flooring system while preserving the integrity of the existing insulation. Our goal was to create a safe, accessible storage area without compromising the thermal efficiency of the property.
Scope of Work:
- Assessment & Preparation: Evaluated the loft structure to ensure proper weight distribution and insulation compatibility.
- Installation of Loft Legs: Secured high-quality loft legs to the ceiling rafters, providing a raised platform to prevent compression of the insulation beneath.
- Flooring Installation: Precisely cut and fitted 18mm chipboard flooring sheets over the loft legs, creating a durable and level storage surface.
- Insulation Protection: Maintained the recommended depth of insulation to ensure optimal energy efficiency and compliance with building regulations.
