At Chic Construction Falmouth, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality craftsmanship across the region. Our recent plastering project in a charming Newbridge cottage in Penzance is a stellar example of our attention to detail and commitment to excellence.
Project Overview
This plastering job was a key step in preparing the cottage for its next phase of transformation—a brand-new kitchen installation. Our objective was to create a smooth, flawless surface that would serve as the perfect backdrop for the upcoming kitchen fit-out.
Our Process
1. Insulated Plasterboard Application:
We began by cutting and gluing insulated plasterboard to the walls using the dot and dab method. This technique not only ensures a secure bond but also provides an effective thermal barrier, contributing to the cottage’s energy efficiency.
2. Fitting Skim Beads:
Once the plasterboard was in place, we carefully fitted skim beads. These beads play a critical role in defining clean edges and transitions, particularly around window reveals, ensuring that every detail is executed to perfection.
3. Achieving a Smooth Finish:
The final step involved skim coating the walls and window reveals. This process resulted in a perfectly smooth finish, creating an ideal canvas for the customer’s new kitchen installation. The meticulous attention to detail in this phase guarantees that the subsequent work will not only look stunning but also stand the test of time.
